Vivace Lunar Lander Mission Support
When Neil Armstrong stepped onto the lunar surface in 1969, the achievement became the pinnacle of humankind’s technological achievement. We’re now going back to the moon, this time to establish a permanent presence.
The audacious plan requires a wide variety of missions, including Lunar Landers designed to carry out scientific reconnaissance, deliver supplies and equipment to the lunar surface, and to safely transport humans to and from the moon.
Vivace is proud to be a top-tier supplier on the majority of these diverse missions, supplying main propellant tanks, pressurant tanks, propellant management systems, and associated propulsion and structural systems that are reliable, that maximize performance, and that are affordable.
Vivace Enabling Technologies
Propellant Tanks
- Vivace provides Composite Overwrapped high performance propellant tanks for several different lunar landers. Composite Overwrapped tanks are typically used in smaller, robotic lunar landers.
- Most Lunar Lander Tanks include Propellant Management Devices (PMDs) to control internal fluid motion during complex and demanding landing maneuvers.
- Vivace builds large cryogenic propellant tanks to support larger human-rated systems and has delivered tanks up to 12.5’ in diameter for lunar landers.
