Vivace Hypersonic Systems Mission Support
Hypersonic travel through the atmosphere is essential for national defense, research, and eventually transportation. Very little hypersonic research has been done to date, but that is beginning to change. Private and government entities are working to accelerate the United States into the hypersonic era, developing systems that can maneuver through the skies at speeds in excess of Mach 7.
Vivace is using its experience with propellant fluid dynamics and highly efficient propellant tank design to deliver solutions to these cutting-edge vehicles. Effective internal fluid management is essential to mission success, and Vivace has flight experience on hypersonic missions that validate some of the most complex propellant management systems ever flown.

Vivace Enabling Technologies: Hypersonic Systems mission
Propellant Tanks
- Vivace provides friction stir welded (FSW) aluminum propellant tanks for hypersonic vehicles. Both cryogenic and ambient tanks are provided.
- Hypersonic Propellant Tanks for maneuvering vehicles include highly complex Propellant Management Devices (PMDs) to control internal fluid motion during flight.
- Vivace builds propellant tanks for hypersonic missions in the 3-foot diameter range but has the capability to build tanks up to 23 feet in diameter.
Pressurant Tanks
- Vivace provides Composite Overwrapped high performance propellant tanks for multiple hypersonic missions. Composite Overwrapped tanks are used to pressurize the main propellant tanks during flight operations.
- Vivace supplies Composite Overwrapped tanks in wide variety of sizes for a wide variety of hypersonic and spaceflight applications.
